Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Looking to Fill 2 Seats for Region 2 Citizen Advisory Committee

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is looking for applicants to fill two positions on the Region 2 Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC). Applicants must be from West-Central Montana including the counties of Ravalli, Missoula, Deer Lodge, Powell, Granite, Mineral and the southwest portion of Lewis & Clark.

Montana Aims to Align Wolf Management with State Law

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will host three public hearings in July to gather comment on a rule proposal that would allow state wildlife officials to designate the delisted gray wolf as a species in need of management.

Montana Wolf Hunting Season

The season is set. Wolves need managed. When wolves roamed the Montana wilds prior to the Lewis & Clarkgray wolf Expedition, there were no houses in the valleys. There were no cattle. Elk and the rest of the Montana wildlife lived in the valleys. This wildlife was only driven to the mountains due to civilization. If we wipe out the homes and ranches, we can recreate the world where the wolf had a purpose. Short of that unrealistic scenario, the wolf needs to be managed. [click to continue...]
